YORKSHIRE FM BUSINESS SAVED FROM ADMIN

Jobs have been saved at a West Yorkshire-based group of cleaning, catering, vending and facilities management (FM) services businesses, following their acquisition from administration.
The Consultant Services Group was founded in 1969 and is based in Heckmondwike, near Wakefield. It employed about 1,200 full- and part-time staff, contracted through an agency.
Stephen Katz and Paul Appleton of David Rubin & Partners were appointed as joint administrators of Consultant Cleaners Ltd, Consultant Caterers Ltd and Consultant Services Group Ltd on 22 January 2019.
The companies entered administration after a proposed company voluntary arrangement (CVA) failed to receive support.
Following a short period of trading in administration, the businesses and assets of these three companies were sold to a new entity formed by the former management team.
The deal has secured the ongoing employment of all personnel working within the businesses, as well the continued occupation of the business premises in Heckmondwyke for the short term.
According to its website, the Consultant Services Group has worked with clients including Clipper, npower, Boden and KCOM.
The most recent accounts filed with Companies House for Consultant Services Group Ltd, covering the year ending 31 May 2017, show turnover of £16m and a pre-tax loss of £203,439.
