CK Facilities Management Named Healthcare Finalist at Golden Service Awards 2026

CK Facilities Management has been named a finalist in the Healthcare category at the 2026 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards – an honour recognising nearly a decade of outstanding service at Marie Curie West Midlands Hospice. With only 50 finalists chosen from 29 companies across the UK, this achievement places CK among the most distinguished organisations in the facilities management and cleaning sector.
Celebrating its 34th year, the Golden Service Awards remain the most respected benchmark for excellence in the industry. They recognise organisations that not only uphold outstanding cleaning standards but also make a meaningful impact on the people and communities they serve. Being shortlisted in the highly competitive Healthcare category reflects CK’s unwavering dedication to quality, compassion, and ongoing improvement.
Quotation – Facilities Manager – Marie Curie West Midlands Hospice
“We have had the pleasure of working closely with CK Facilities Management for the last eight years and throughout that period, I have found them to be extremely professional, approachable and consistent in the standards they set and keep to. Their KPI’s are always achieved and they are easily the best company I have worked with in this field in my thirty years as a Facilities Manager. CK Facilities Management have also been influential and very supportive with our waste management systems, implementing new ways of working to streamline waste management on site.”

CK highlighted its longstanding partnership with Marie Curie West Midlands Hospice, where the company has provided cleaning services, periodic tasks, and on-site laundry management since December 2017. Despite a KPI target of 95%, CK has consistently exceeded expectations, achieving over 99% since January 2024 and never falling below 97% throughout the 8.5-year contract. Over the past year alone, performance has averaged 99.13%. Equally notable is the fact that no formal complaints have ever been received regarding standards or service.
In a hospice setting, cleaning is more than just a technical task; it is an act of dignity, comfort, and respect. CK’s team exemplifies this principle through strict adherence to NHS National Cleaning Standards (High–FR2), thorough infection control procedures, and the compassionate delivery of Exit Cleans – comprehensive cleans required when a patient moves rooms, is discharged, or passes away. These cleans, which take two to three hours and can be requested up to four times a day, often on short notice, demonstrate the team’s responsiveness and emotional intelligence.
Roy Cole . General Manager CK Facilities Management
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Marie Curie so closely over the last eight plus years; to have built the strong relationships we have and achieved the success we have too. The Hospice offers an incredible care and support service and I’m very proud of our involvement as part of that service.
I also want to make special mention of our fantastic Team at Marie Curie. Led by Christine Elsey, our Site Supervisor. The standards that our Team continually achieve is a credit to their commitment, dedication and desire to achieve the highest possible levels of quality and comfort for the patience.
This contract has always been an absolute pleasure to manage and I’d like to thank all of the our Team as well as our customers at the Hospice for their continued support.
CK’s resilience in the face of major challenges further solidifies its status as a finalist. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the team implemented enhanced cleaning protocols, daily staff testing, and rapid-response measures to protect patients and staff. Recruitment difficulties—highlighted by the hospice’s affluent Solihull location—were tackled through wage incentives and loyalty bonuses, helping to maintain an impressive 10% annual staff turnover rate. More recently, ongoing refurbishment work has required close cooperation with the hospice’s Facilities Department, with CK’s Site Supervisor invited to the Working Committee to ensure safety, minimise disruption, and uphold standards.
Innovation has been central to CK’s success. The company has:
• Introduced laundered microfibre systems
• Implemented the mpro5 audit tool to replace paper-based processes
• Adopted facial recognition software for increased security
• Tested new machinery to boost efficiency and cleaning standards.
These initiatives complement CK’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 accreditations, showing a strong commitment to quality, sustainability, and ongoing improvement.
As CK advances to the next judging stage – including a BICSc site visit to evaluate innovation, staff training, and client relationships- the company exemplifies what excellence in healthcare cleaning truly looks like. The winners will be announced on 21 May 2026 at the London Hilton on Park Lane, where over 500 industry leaders will gather to honour the very best in the profession.
For CK Facilities Management, becoming a finalist is more than just recognition; it confirms their belief that in sensitive healthcare environments, exceptional cleaning can significantly impact lives when it matters most.
